Default Sanding down Chrome Wheels to paint black

bout to get a set of zr1s that need some love the chrome has basically fallen off any body got tips on getting it all off ? i plan on spraying them all black

I would like to know this too. I got a free set of chrome zr1s but the chrome is bubbling/ peeling.

try having them sandblasted.

Sit down with them and start peeling. You will have 90% of the chrome off in no time. Bring them over to my house and you can make the mess in my garage if you want.

A chrome shop should be able to strip them for you tho.

sandblasting is the best thing to do, you could also sand and sand and sand, but sandblasting is best bet

Chemical strip. Powder coat. Done.

Anything less...plan on SEVERAL do-overs
