Mine used to leak all the time. Pretty common problem. Little RTV and it was good as new... well until an axle got bent. lol

The rear end is making a horrible roaring / whining sound. All of the nearby shops want to charge me 850-1500 for it. Honestly, for that price I may as well install something stronger then just fix my crappy 10V However, I just moved here ( stupid airforce) and I've no working knowledge on a rear end. So, trying to find a cheap way to fix it so I can go home on the 25th of this month. My dad's deploying again and I won't see him for a year, and when he returns I'm expected to go play in the sand box. So, just alot of hassle at the moment.

Air force eh? Cool I am stationed at Eglin. What base are you at? If it is the bearings it can be fixed pretty easily. Did the shops tell you what the actual problem is? If you want a new rear end the 25th is kinda pushing it, unless you find a used one local. 850+ is a lot of money to dump into a 10 bolt, especially if your going to mod the car a lot more. Let me know if you need a hand with anything.

I am also here at Eglin. lol. two different shops told me 2 different things.

1 of them told me the Pinion was broke the other one told me the axle was broke. Yea, if you could help me diagnose what is ACTUALLY wrong, I'd appreciate that. I'm here in the dorms, just drop me a PM or something.

What are your hours and what shop do you work at? If you would rather pm that then thats fine. I work normal hours pretty much. Another thing you should do is post in the Rear end forum your problems/symtoms and see if anyone has some suggestions.
