Default Oil pump drive?

I just ordered part number 89032LUN to replace my oil pump drive gear http://www.race-mart.com/Lunati-LTI-89032LUN.html. I am also going to be adding this http://www.pro-jectioneng.com/ops.html. I am just want to know how many others have done this and is it necessary for a 400-415RWHP car.

I'm doing the same thing as you on my new build. Have both pieces sitting in a box ready to put on the oil pump drive and engine.

IMO, its necessary for the peace of mind. It's not about HP, its about longevity. Sometimes the devils in the details and these two things are something small you can do to eliminate a potentially catastrophic issue later on.

That is what I was thinking; for under $70 I know I have a solid piece that will not cause problems latter on a motor I want to last 100k+.

How is that Lunati gear installed; is there just a pin that needs to be removed where I see that small hole.

I have a Herron billet housing with a Comp Cams composite gear for sale and both are new never used. I have gone in a different direction asking $235 shipped for both. Anyone interested pm me or email me at z24.turbo@gmail.com, it's cheap insurance for your expensive engine.
