Default kooks install in the dmv area

Just posted in the eastern section that I'm looking for a little assistance with a header install. If u are willing to help, I'm willing to pay $300.00. Id rather pay a person who gives a damn about the car and knows their way around the car vs a shop that will overcharge u and most likely won't get quality work. If u are intrested message me below, or pm me. Experience preferred. I'm located in northern va, and the work will be done @ andrews afb. Thanks.. please no thread bashing

Where did you get these and for how much? Im int he markt myself and will be garage installing these depending how yours goes.

I know a shop thats more than competent and the head guy actually used to be a Cadillac Master tech. And they dont charge an arm and a leg either.

on a cold day in hell... more like 2,000 for coating on kooks, and the guys over @ maryland speed said since they are stainless, there is no need to coat the headers.. so why waist the $$$?

Its gonn ahave to wait. No time or funds to spend on getting this done right now. not that I liek waiting but next year I should be able to install the cam and headers together. Maybe save up and do the LS7 clutch at the same time. Who knows.

looks like i got them at a good time...my Kooks 1 7/8" with HF Cats and Jet Hot 1700* Coating on LT (inside and out) and Mids (outside only) was 1575 Shipped.

I can tell you that the coating is nice. my engine temps run 30*-40* cooler then before, although part of that is the T-Stat. On a cool morning a couple weeks a go, i ran the entire way to work and never got above 168 on the freeway and 174 off. On my road trip home from California last year, I was driving along I10 From LA to Phoenix. Had the air on 72* and going 75-85mph, and my the hottest my water temp got was 185* on the high, and 195* in the Phoenix. Outside air temps were as high as 115 and coolest i saw (once east of San Bernardino) was 105.

and they have been on the car for coming up on 14 months and 18,000 miles, and they are BRIGHT silver. Where as my Magnaflow cat back is all shorts of colors now (except mufflers and the tips).

my advice, since you are uncoated, wrap the header or move the Alternator Harness leads. Or you could melt it to the Header. Happened to me, and Whisler151. Its an $800 fix at the dealer...and that hurts.
