Default BMR 1" lowering A Arms, Stranos, and Konis. PICS

So I finally have my ride height down to almost perfect. I started out with a set of strano springs and konis. But for some reason, on my car, the front always had the appearance of being higher than the rear.

I chalk this up to a couple of things, but mostly I think it these two. 1. Its just the way the car is. no explanation for it, it just sits a bit higher in front.
2. The offset wheel diameters. Running an 18 up front and 19 in the rear made the appearance that the rear was lower due to the larger diameter tire taking up more room in the fender well.

After talking to Sam, trying the springs on the lower perch (helped a bit, but not worth the risk), then buying a set of front eibachs off a member here to try (same result), I decided to try out BMR's new 1" drop A arms.

Wow. these things are awesome.

The ride height is perfect for me, hell, i might even raise it up with their available spacers another 1/4 of an inch.

Install was straight forward, drove it from northern VA to the outer banks in NC last week, no noticeable increase in road noise, no clunking, no wierd steering. Feels like the stockers, only lighter, stronger, and lower.

Special thanks to Lee at BMR for the help. Great guy, Great company. Very, Very Happy.

here are some before and after pics.

here is a funny *** one, waaay back before i lowered it. (dont worry, didnt drive in public like this)

Before is with stock a arms, strano springs, Koni shocks.

Here is the after ( i know i still need to paint rear calipers)

well that is it. any questions or opinions, feel free.

Looks sweet man. What color did you use on the calipers? Looks really close to "ZR1 blue".

What size tires (front and rear) are you running? The rear combo fills in the rear wheel opening pretty well.

That might just be the freaking tallest car I've ever seen stock (and nose high too). I don't know why, or what was causing it to sit like a circus freak on stilts, but damn.

well, it does look better now, and contrary to popular belief your car won't even blow up having my springs and those arms on it.

I would have liked to have seen these pics when we talked, I couldn't fathom just how up there the car was.

Hmmmm...the wheel gap on the front of my car looks like yours did with koni/strano setup, but a tad lower. I think it's due to the STB...those A-arms took care of the trick for you. Hmmm.

I think mine just looks higer in the front because of the way my rear tires fill the rear wheel gap.

It definitely does not sit higher in the front. My car has always had a raked stance, and still does even after I put the Stranos on.

Look great now!
You have and photos that show the BMR front control arm, and Koni/Strano setup mounted on the car, maybe with the wheel off?

its by Duplicolor. Called MetalCast. they only have a few colors, only one blue from what i remember. Its a two stage paint, a metallic under layer/primer, then the top coat.

Works really well. It was the color i was going for. When i get some extra cash, Im prob send them to get powder coated the ZR1 blue, but this is so damn close its gonna work for a while.

They are bad ***. for the money, i dont think there is a better option. The C6 kit would prob work just as well and give you some more clearance and wheel choices though. I have to run 15 mm Eibach hub centric spacers to clear these wheels.

Pads for the Z06 are a bit more too. but the performance is top notch for the type of driving i do.

Totally Sam. Its gotta just be something in the production tolerances of the cars. For all those that say your springs are too high in front and blame you, should use this car as an example.

I even picked up a set of front eibachs (for sale if anyone wants them ) to double check. It WAS NOT caused by the springs. Its just how the car sits.

I probably should have sent you that very first photo, but there wasnt much that could be done anyway.

The car is a beast now with the ride height c/o BMR, full travel of the konis, and the Strano springs. Its night and day.

Yea, Its def. not due to Sams springs. Its car to car. Im 100% convinced of that. your car proves that, as does mine.

I just had to buy a few more parts to get mine dialed in.
