Default will larger injectors blow my motor??

I have an iron 6.0 motor with l92 heads and a decent cam. I am currently running stock injectors which I told are maxed out. I just had it rebuilt over the winter and the guy that rebuilt it told me that if I change the injectors now to the 42lb set I just bought, they will just dump too much fuel and blow my motor unless I change my heads and change my pistons. Is there any truth to this? I have no clue what to do....

you need to have the car tuned for the new injectors, don't put them in until the car is with the tuner.

That is plain bull****

Even if you install them without tuning, the engine will run (very rich) but it won't blow. New heads and pistons won't make any difference.

You can install them and drive the car to the tuner. Of course, it's better to drive the car to the tuner using sotck injectors then change them.

You were told incorrectly. A tuner will set the injector tables to the size of the injectors. You could run 160lb injectors if you wanted to. They'd just pulse quicker.

Thanks for your help and input and putting up with my ignorance. My tuner just has hp tuners on his laptop. Would he be able to tune the new injectors if I decide to put the 42's in without a wideband?
Also, if I just follow the advice of the guy who rebuilt my motor and leave the stock injectors in there, will I end up leaning out and hurting my motor? I'm just new to all of this and keep getting conflicting answers. Thanks

I would find a different tuner.

What he said...

If you run out of injector, it will stop making power and possibly go lean. The injectors will go "static" and stay open full time. Any tuner should EASILY be able to change injector tables for a new set of injectors. It's very easy and all the common injector's tables are available copy-paste online.

This...

Get the right size injectors and swap them when they are at the tuner's. Running it way rich for a bit before the tune can foul your plugs and throw a wrench in your tuning process.

It was actually the guy that rebuilt my motor who told me not to touch the stock injectors or else there is a good chance that the extra fuel dumped could mix in with the oil and cause my engine to blow again.
The tuner said to replace them with the larger injectors and the o2 sensors will read the a/f mixture and that's what tells the computer how much fuel I need.

I just can't afford to go through another engine....
