cleaning motor tomorrow
i got me some simple green and started spraying it on a rag and wipping it down.. but what do i need to watch out for and cover up if i wanted to spray it all over and hose it down??

Just watch out from spraying on any open wires. The LS1 is pretty well sealed up. Not much to worry about. I just wouldn't use the water hose and sit there with a steady stream on the motor.

Get a spray bottle and put your simple green mix into there and spray the hell out of that ho. Then just rinse it off and your left with a clean motor.

I'd be careful about getting degreaser on the belts and hoses...not that it would be the same in this situation, but I degreased and hosed the engine bay of my Syclone and some of the degreaser worked its way between the hose and the inlet of the intercooler. I took the truck out and hit full boost and the hose blew (slid) right off of the inlet neck...it sounded like a cannon shot and the truck instantly quit pulling. I immediately thought catastrophe, but much to my relief it was just the hose...just my .02
