Poll: Use Stock Rods w/ ARP Pro Bolts on Budget turbo build
I am building my engine to do a swap into my GN w/ single turbo. I am on a really limited budget and am trying to do as much of this build as I can by selling the turbo v6 parts and interior since I am going to do a pro street type interior and am debating between using stock connecting rods w/ arp pro bolts or going w/ 6.1" Scat H-Beams w/ ARP 2000s. I already ordered some budget Probe 3.902 forged FPS pistons $370 to fit stock rod length and pin so the Scat rods are the only option besides factory. I already have the brand new stock rods I picked up for $120 and would just need $100 more for ARP bolts or I can sell them and go with the Scats for about $520. I also am using a new iron 5.3 block I picked up for $99 so likely I will only have a little over a thousand in in my long block if I go with stock rods.

hard for me to give good advise bc. i just spent the money on callies rotating assembly. being that you already have the pistons i would say spend the extra and get the scat rods. even if it does cost a little more now im sure it will save you in the long run.

If your not going to have the big end on the rods resized go with the Katech rod bolts....but like above, if your tearing the whole thing down to put pistons in I'd get a good set of rods too....I'm also running a fully forged bottom end.....good insurance in my opinion
