ls3 oil consumption

This is total ridiculous. If I want to go on travel I need to pack 100000000qt oil. This is stupid in 21 century.

The LS2 engine used low tension rings and caused some LS2 motors to consume more than a quart every 1000 miles. GM put out a TSB that any LS2 using more than a quart every 1000 miles, GM would replace the rings. this was back in 2007. in 2008 GM released another TSB that any LS2 motor using 1 quart every 1000 miles would get new pistons and rings. my LS2 used 1 quart every 1000 miles when it was new then at 18,000 miles used only 1/2 quart every 1500 miles.
I have not heard the same issue with the LS3.
sounds like u may have a warranty claim with ur LS376/480 crate motor.
do a leakdown test to see how much compression is getting by the rings or valve seals. usual is 2%-10% on a new engine. ur rings may not have seated properly, valve seals r bad, or oil is being pulled thru the intake, vaporized and burned. last item u would see carbon buildup on the floor beneath ur tailpipes.
