Default what's the best fuel filter

I was wondering what the best fuel filter was out there, also how much would the dealer charge to change them, looks easy enough to do it myself but I don't like the idea of fuel leaking (better safe then sorry imo). thanks

as far as i know...a fuel filter is a fuel filter...just use a delco OEM replacement.

I asked the same at another post and was told by a guy who claims to test Ac Delco filters that Wixx filters are the best. That Napa sells a Napa Gold fuel filter made by Wixx. I am gonna try that.

Here we go again, it's not my day on
this board:

OK 50 for the FF and 35 labor
give or take a couple bucks.
Whats the problem? Cause I
paid 35 for labor. Ever think not
everyone has the time or tools.
What if I live in the city and have
no garage, want me to do it on the
street. Why is how I spend a few dollars
so sickening to you, why do you care,
Trust me you could spend the money you
work hard for however you wish, I could
care less.

that actually seems like a pretty good price. Around here the dealers would easily charge double that

I think its because you paid 50 for a fuel filter.....They're no more than like $15 at the auto store....Did you pay 50 for an oil filter too? Those have more design in them than fuel filters and they cost $10 for a K&N oil filter....

Ok then I should have left, went to Autozone,
then make another appointment just for
the filter. Sorry for my careless spending.
I guess I just wanted what was best for my car,
I do kinda like it. You know what I'm not using
Mobil 1 anymore either, forget the 93 octane, and
Zaino-forget about it. As a matter of fact I'm not
even going to wash it anymore either, damn water bill.

I guess it's not your day, tough luck. Dealers will always rip you off. It is really worth it to learn how to do it yourself. www.installuniversity.com has an article that will tell you how to change your fuel filter. I buy filters at autozone for $9. You can get a set up ramps to drive your car up onto for $25. The only tools you need are a couple of wrenches. I think we've all been ripped off be the dealer. Good luck.

Yeah, I started learning how to work on my own car after the dealer charged me $750 for a water pump install and engine flush. I took it into a trusted mechanic last week to have an oil consumption/leak problem checked out, as well as to replace a worn axle brought on by a bad axle seal on the passenger side rear. The axle and seal are fixed ($488 later...$372 for parts, $88 labor, then add sales tax), but the oil problem wasn't diagnosed because they weren't equipped to do a rebuild, so they sent me on my way. On one hand, I'm happy they didn't just give it back and say "we don't know and we can't fix it", but had they at least made the effort to do a compression test, I would at least feel better. Could I have fixed the axle seal myself? Sure! But I just didn't have the time or the space to pull the half axle out. Besides, who wants differential fluid all over the place?

I can feel locosteelersfan's (hope that's the name) pain. I only recently moved into a house, and had to rely on a quick lube place for three years before I had a place to work on it. At least he's getting maintenance done on his car, rather than just letting it fall apart, even if he IS getting overcharged.

Ok I was completely wrong and apologize.
I looked at the invoice, cost me 25 bucks.
I had a bunch of stuff done and got the digits
mixed up. 80 was the next line-Front sway install.
