Default cam help please.

That's my cam card my original plan was 2 put it in a lq9 but I got a real good deal on a lm7 wit bad lifters and a cam. So now my plans are 2 put this cam and ls7 lifters. My question is I've been doing some research and most people say its 2 big of a cam for this motor while others say its all in the tune. What do u guys think? Its goin in my nova wit ls1 intake and ported tb and some long tubes. Any feedback is greatly appreciated

Seems like a lot for that motor unless you have a lot of gear but if it fits check your PTV and in that stang it will be ok since its so light

The LQ9 was 10.08:1, but the LM7 was 9.49:1, so you'll need the heads milled for compression.
The LQ9 had good-flowing Ls6 intake ports, with 2.00" intake valves, while your LM7 has regular ports and small 1.89" intake valves. It doesn't need so much split. At least get your heads cut for the 2.00" valves.
That's a healthy cam for an LQ9, it's huge for an LM7. I wouldn't be surprised if it wants a 4400 stall, and pulls 7200.

You want to put this cam in the lm7, or lq9? That's quite a bit of duration for the lm7, and may be difficult to tune for the street. I'd personally go with something a little smaller, but it's up to you.

Its for the lm7 I have the cam and motor already so no goin back. Lol I wanted 2 do a lq9 but I picked up the motor for 200 so felt it was a deal I couldn't pass up. Its for the nova. So u guys all think its 2 big of a cam? Will it be really that hard 2 tune or do u guys think a good tuner can make it work

It can be tuned, but it's street manners won't be the greatest. You'll want different gears and converter, or it won't have much down low.

Cover- f no! Lol
I wonder if it'll hurt me performance wise tho. Plannin wit 3.73's and maybe a 3500 stall converter or 3k watever I find cheaper. Wanted close to 400rwhp

Well, if you do end up using that cam, a port job and good tune should get you there if not close. Good luck.

definitely have a valve job with some stock ls1 valves in your 5.3 heads. check you PTV before milling the heads to know where your at. no cam is too big...if there was people wouldnt be fly-cutting pistons .

prob gonna need more than a 3500 converter, but just depends who tunes it.

good luck...should run great
