which master cylinder for my setup?
ok guys I have the 3rd gear shift problem where under high rpms i can't shift it. Just had a new clutch put in and I did replace the slave cylinder, but not the master so i'm assuming that needs to be replaced. I have 4.10s on a stock T56 transmission. The car is putting out about 450 HP with 430 ft. lbs. What master cylinder should i use? I don't want to spend the extra money if i don't have to. tick seems to be the most expensive and the best, but do i need it for my setup or is there something else?

When it comes to master cylinders for our cars there is no option in my opinion. Get the Tick and be done with it. These cars have been plauged for years with crappy masters; both stock and aftermarket, take advantage of the fact that there's finally a company that is reputable AND makes a quality product. I have always believed in 'You get what you pay for' and the Tick MC is a perfect example.
I have been running one for about 2 years now and recently installed one in a friends GTO.

I believe Ram makes that out of a stock gm unit, which you can do yourself. Search how to do it and check it out. I drove with one like that for a couple of years and I had NO problem putting some fellow shifting opponents in the dirt. A misconception is the tick will give you the driver mod; the truth is, if you're missing shifts due to hydraulics, the Tick is great. If you miss a lot of shifts for any other reason than equipment failure, you're going to be disdained. Good luck. Oh yeah, did you do the drill mod to your current master?
