Talking Taking the plunge into the dark side...(N2O)

After a lot of consideration, weighing my options, and putting off other important things, I am going to pick up a wet nitrous system from Nitrous Outlet. The LT1 Plate System seems to fit my needs and wants perfect. I was on the fence with upgrading my 10 bolt to a 9" but I am going to wait until the winter (If the 10 bolt last) to take that leap. I plan on spraying a 150 shot, the goal is to hit low 11's and if things go right maybe a high 10. Realistic I don't know yet, but we'll see. I ordered a set of M/T ET street 275/55/15 to get some of the power to the ground. I'll keep this thread updated with my progress.

I'm sure you will be pleased with your choice. The 10 bolt should live for awhile as long as you do not spray it out of the gates too often.

That is a concern of mine. The idea. I was tossing around is to lock out 1st gear. Hope it works out

Gear lockout is a solid solution. We can also just soften it with a progressive. The gear lockout is a safer, but a slower bet. I can go over both a little more detailed when your ready.

I locked out first gear when I first start spraying, but you will lose a lot of ET doing that. I ended up delaying the spray by about 0.5 seconds, just to get the car rolling to lessen the stress on the rear end. Ended up dropping about 6 tenths in the 1/4 delaying it less of the line.

Will I have to use two different boxes, one to pull timing and one to lock out 1st?

Hopefully in the next 2-3 weeks.

You may look are system up if you are not familiar with it. It works very well with N20 Outlet products. The guys over at Nitrous Outlet can help you with it.

nothing as of now graham....the kit isn't even on the car yet. Was waiting on the LPE controller to come in to set everything up and start testing at the track. Now question is, say I don't spray on the launch, but in 2nd as soon as the car shifts, by manual activation. Is this ok to do or would you recommend doing it with a controller. Money is kinda tight but I would like to get the car down the track, but it can wait till I get the money to do it 100% right the first time.

had a question bout your system, sorry for hijacking the thread but I am new to this as well and its my first time taking the N20 plunge. Since your system helps with bottle pressure, a heater is not needed correct?

If you want to do manual activation, I would at the least run a WOT switch inline with the button. So that you have to be WOT and have the button depressed for it to spray. A window switch is still a safer option IMO, but it can be done that way.

Thanks Graham you are always helpful with this stuff. I have the WOT switch, just waiting on that LPE to come out and we will be set. I know I had the window switch on order but you guys were out of stock, going to need one of those as well as some plugs. You have a plug recommendation for a 150 shot on 93 octane off the rail? All I have fuel wise is racetronix255lph pump and hotwire kit. Stock injectors.
