Default What's wrong with my car?

Coming back from a show saturday morning I went from a 1st gear 10mph roll and got on it. Wheels spun but I got a random bad vibration through the bottom of the car. Ever since there has been a vibration felt through the bottom of the car from about 1500rpm to about 2000 rpm then it dies down a bit. Still goes into all gears fine, no whine from the gears, clutch engages and disengages fine. Took it for a drive today and the same symptoms, only took it up to about 50mph though because I didnt want to push it. Still has the 10 bolt with a bit of mileage on it and for the past week or so there has been just a very rare little bump feeling against the bottom of the car which has me thinking its a bad tranny or torque arm mount? Didn't hear any bad noises either from the car..any ideas?

Automatic or Manual? Regardless I would check the transmission mount on the car, my mount wore out and I had similar problems that you described.

x2 on the tranny mount. I snapped the bolt on a hard 1-2 shift once and got vibes and clunking. possibly a motor mount if the tranny mount is okay.

Got it hot today as I had to go drive for a little. When it's hot 2nd and 6th gear like to make a slight whine or grind when I let of the gas quickly or hit a bump. 4th also seems to make the most vibration through the floor

only when the car's hot and only when i let off the gas quickly or go over a bump, haven't gotten past like 1/4th throttle because I don't want to break anything further..heard that rear end noise gets passed up and through the shifter as well..

The mounts werent too bad, the issue.....Torque Arm was annihilated!! Where it mounts up to the diff at the top and bottom, there's those like main support type beams at the top and bottom and those had gnarly cracks just before the bolts on both the top and bottom that were a few inches long and the back of the torque arm/rear end was falling off. On top of that, the driveshaft was about half an inch out of the tranny and the rear end was at like a 20 degree angle, which was bending the bottom of the shocks. Hopefully all that was screwed was the torque arm. I don't know how the thing was still moving. Me being an idiot didnt take pictures today!! I'll see if I can get any when I go back but I doubt I'll be able to get any of the carnage, sorry guys! But yeah..I'm still in shock as to how that torque arm got the way it did..sooo wierd and just bad! haha, looks as if someone took the end of the torque arm and tried to rip both sides..just plain ****** wierdddd

if it had been a u-joint, the noise would be constant, same with a bad rearend. glad you found the issue
