Thumbs up This Weeks Race Results

Well, after my State Wrestling tournament melt down. I came home on Friday night to see my wonderful wife and get ready for the 1st points race of the year at Lone Star Raceway.

Saturday, I went 5 rounds.(Semi-Finals, down to 4 cars) In the 5th round we both broke out. I ran a 7.0713 on a 7.09 dial in to his 5.8117 on a 5.83 dial in.

I was on tree all day. My light were from 5.0's to 5.20's and the Hot Rod ran dead on. In the 5th round, I just didn't consider the wind slowing down so much.

The great thing is, I am in 2 place in track points. What a great way to start off the new year.

Maybe, just maybe this will be my year.

Now, it is time to get my new Thunder racing bullet into the Hot Rod.

Thanks to my wife(Kayle) for all that you put up with, Andrew, Thunder Racing, and Madman Racing. I couldn't do this without ya'll.

Coach

Good racing Coach!

Damn, did you lose that 5th round by like .002?

I lost in the 3rd round with a .497 red light, this weekend

I was owning everyone.. I had a .519 1st round ran right on my dial in 10.68et and .517 2nd round ran 10.69 on a 10.68 dial.

Sucks after I red lighted I ran 10.70 on a 10.68 dial and the other guy broke out by .05 with a .565 RT All I needed was any green light RT to win that round =(

I actually had a bye run for the 3rd round because there was an odd # of cars and I had the best RT with a .517 in the 2nd round. But someone couldn't make the 3rd round race so there was an even # of cars and I had to race. So it figures I go from getting a bye run to eliminating myself with a .497 grrr..

I don't know where I'm at in the points yet, they haven't published the results. I should still be in the top 10 though.

Next race for me is the Pepsi Chevy Show in 2 weeks, my next points night is the following weekend.

Good luck Coach!

Lee

congrats Coach, glad to see you're having a good start to your season. and the same to you Lee.
I tried my hand at 2 tracks in Florida I've never been to, and found some new ways to lose. Made the 4th round on friday at Sunshine dragway only to give the stripe back by .011 to a 9.80 wagon when i had run on the dial 7.23 the round before
Then in the super chevy buy-in bonus race saturday my .036 and 7.261 on a 7.26 got dealt by a .014 and a 7.336 on a 7.32.
Sunday I completely screwed myself running a 17.20 pickup, and went -.044 red (worst light in 4-5 years) and then to make it worse went 11.490 on an 11.49 dial to his .199 light and 3 tenths over! Then I buy back to go -.006 red, but at least I did it against a .020 light from the eventual winner.
Man, I can't wait until Gainesville's opener on April 3rd, I'll be more than ready!

I hope it is your year this year Coach. Good luck Coach. A 2nd place start is a good start.
I'll have my HOT ROD back next week. I'm gonna enter the IHRA points series at my local track. It's going to be a tough season.

Good luck,
Tom

Great job Coach. Our 1st actual race isn't until May . Why oh why did I move back to South Dakota

A track to the south in N.E. opens on March 20th. I hoping the SS is back together to get some T&T in before the season starts.

Goody luck to everyone on the new race season.

Cool

Lee,
Thanks, Sounds like you had a pretty good weekend racing. I hate red lights. I have felt your pain alot last year. Hang in there buddy. Things are going to get better for ya. Good luck at the Pepsi Chevy Show in 2 weeks.

Derek,
Now that is what Iam talking about. Racing on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Damn, You gotta love it. I understand about driving the top end stripe. Iam working on that also. I have my lights down, now I need to be better at the stripe. I hate racing dragsters.(who I lost to in rd #5) They come up on you so fast, it is hard to judge the stripe. Good luck at Gainesville's opener on April 3rd .

Tom,
Thanks man. What are you doing to your Hot Rod? Good luck this season also.

algws6,
Thanks.

David,
Thanks, Living in South Dakota and not getting to race until May. That would SUCK! I wish you luck on getting your SS back together and Good luck this year.

DMcRacer,
Thanks and Good Luck to you this weekend.

Coach
Thanks Coach I added Strange racing brakes front and rear, Evacuation pump and overflow catch can, LSX 78mm intake and 80mm BBK TB and a 85mm lid, engine strap, new aluminum valve covers and a properly tuned Accel Gen 7+ with wide band.

I am going to remove the door bars. "yes they are still in there Tony "
I am going to remove the stereo and speakers too.

I'm sporting about 30 FWHP and 20 FWFPT more than last year with a conservative tune.

It's gonna be fun Thanks for asking Coach
