Is there a difference between a V clutch and C5 Z06 clutch??
I bought a competition clutches stage 4 clutch kit for my car but the part number is for a C5 Z06/LS6. I don't think this is an issue considering both cars have the LS6/T-56 combo but I heard the slave cylinder is slightly different from the z06 to the V. I am told to run a z06 clutch on the V, you either need a spacer/shim to make the stock V slave work and reach where it needs to on the z06 clutch or the z06 slave cylinder all together as it is a little longer.
Anyone else heard of this?
I just don't want to get it back together to find out the clutch won't engage all the way due to this slave cylinder difference.

Did you also buy a flywheel? You will need a new single mass flywheel to go with that disk and pressure plate and then yes you will still need a spacer. The one Katech sells should be the right spacer to install a C5 Z06 clutch.

There are at least two different spacers available, TPIS and Katech. The former is around .48" thick and the latter is closer to an inch thick. I have had the TPIS spacer/V-slave/12570806 clutch/flywheel assembly in my car since I did the swap and have had no issues whatsoever, but I don't drag race the car.
If your slave/throwout bearing assembly is in good shape, reusing it should not be a problem. Bench bleed it to clean it out and use a high-temp DOT 3/4 fluid and you'll be good to go.
Also, a bit of trivia..... The stock V clutch can be used with any flywheel with the offset (.4 or so) clutch cover mounts (i.e: the LS7 and I believe, the LS2 GTO flywheels) and the same for the clutch disc (if you don't mind not having the hub cushioning springs).

Thanks for all the help and info guys! Don't know what i'd do without this forum! Lol
I'm going to inspect my slave today and see if it's still in good shape. It's working fine at the moment but with 120k on it, I'm tempted to just pay the extra $30-$40 for a brand new on to run with the clutch....

I have the Katech spacer, and my LS2 slave is just starting to fail at 16k miles. Do yourself a favor and do the LS7 slave the first time, unlike me. It'll save you time in the long run.
