Just installed my valance and I want to compare my gap with everyone elses. Please post close-up pics of the gap between the valance and bumper. I'm also interested in seeing the tips from maybe the side to see how far they stick out. Some under shots would be grea too. Thanks!

Some valences will be different with gap. Early SLP valences had a decent lip on them while later ones were molded to fit a little closer/better to the bumper. Mine is an early style and I'll try and take some pictures when I get home. It actually needs to be re-taped so it probably wouldn't help.

Interesting. Mine is an oem, not sure what style. The gap isn't actually that bad (I think) but I think because I'm not used to it I'm making a big deal out of it.

What kind of tape do you use? I used 3m double sided molding tape, and also used screwed it in with the mounting holes.

I believe I used the same. Was the tape gray or black? Mine was thin and gray and it seems to be peeling back a little bit around the top. A friend suggested a thicker black kind that would hold up better. It could also be peeling back a little due to the temperatures here and how humid it's been

Hlaalu, honetsly, yours looks about right other than missing the tips, lol. But the lip itself looks like its where it should be.

Can you take some closer ones for me? The top edge of your cme looks "rounded" and looks like it blends better.

I know when I had my exhaust changed I had to use some alligator clamps to make it the right height again.

I will see about getting some pics while Im at lunch. If not then it will be later this evening.

As far as keeping it clean I really dont have anything to keep it clean. I try and scrub the hell out of it but that only lasts a day or two. Only other way would to get it chromed or something like that.

How useful is this topic if people don't say what valance they have? SLP's is certainly different from 6LE's.
