I picked up a nomex lined helmet as well. Not sure its required.
About the only thing the Tech at no prob pointed out to me was making sure your cutoff switch is labeled. And your roll cage is padded where your helmet would likely contact it.

Yeah I have no idea on the clothes, do the pants and jacket have to be a certain thickness?
I will label the shutoff thanks on that Larry. Which padding do you have, the big stuff or the one side U-shaped stuff?

You will need a 3 layer jacket, pants, Neck collar and gloves. I have the one side u-shaped stuff. It works great.

It is 150 and higher. If you have good brakes you can bring a car down from high 140's on a short top end. Only risk to you is the new location for your beach front property if your brakes give out. That's a lot of speed to burn off. It's an easy thing to add at a later date and certainly not required for your speeds to pass tech.

I have seen cars at the track brake down from 170 without a chute. I'd think if you are still on the factory discs they will be enough John. Unless you are on a track with a short shut down Weight is obviously a factor in this as well. A lot easier to stop a 2400 pound car I suppose Do you already have front studs? I have extras I got from Lingenfelter.

I have some Moser mm studs I got from Summit a few months ago.
I am not so into the chute since I would have to do more chassis stuff to mount the 'chute stuff so I will most likely get some aftermarket front brakes now.

Unfortunately with a chute you have to commit to your decision to use it before you reach about 1000'. Beyond that you'll be beach front in no time on a short track. Loose or not. And a chute may really upset a loose car if you are not careful. Choose wisely pison'. Aftermarket brakes are a really good idea though. I can stop so much better since I swapped mine out. Just feels a lot more consistent and firm.
