I didnt know my s10 had a light in the ash tray until I pulled the entire dash out. I have had the truck for 4 years.

It's not snakeskin, it's like a Reflective kinda looking surface...like the red in the GMC emblems. I'm the kinda guy who goes over a new car with a fine toothed comb! So there's little that surprises me. I was always wondering what the dumb little squares were on the door handle bezel inside my Firebird. That's until I took the door apart for some reason and saw it was a light with a burnt out bulb! LoL
