Default LS6 mani for cam only

My mods are in my signature. Just bought the car and wanna round out the bolt-ons for when I put heads on it this winter. How much is running the stock manifold and throttle body holding the cam back.

The previous owner gave me the dyno of about 365 rwhp with the mods in my sig. I wanna pair an ls6 gm manifold or fast ls6 intake with a throttle body recommended. Is it worth it to get the fast or go with the bbk?

This is my first LS1 so be easy lol

a ls6 or a bbk/weiand type intake ($300) will work great with some nice reworked 243/799 heads.

I'm leaning towards the BBK. I just speant a few minutes going through old posts and there is a lot of people running it with good results.

Depends if I get a good deal on an LS6. Ill clean it up and port the TB. Should be good eh?

i have no experience with the BBK intake, but i did have an LS6, bolt ons only. i love it. great increase of power over stock LS1 intake, good overall intake, best bang for the buck. heard good things about the BBK as well, i just have no experience with it. now a FAST is really the best way to go, especially with 243 heads and a nice cam. i got my FAST 92/92 for 650, sold my LS6 for 450, and my old injectors for 100, so i basically paid 100 bucks for it!

Great! Is it true they no longer make the fast 92/92 setup? Gotta find it used?

That is true.

I swapped to an LS6 mani and have no regrets, but I'm also just bolt ons.

right, they only make the 102 version now, and that is the only reason i got a FAST intake in the first place, cause i got it for half price (with 42lb injectors mind you!!!) and in great condition. i actually made money swaping it. otherwise i would never spend $1300+ on an intake manifold!

I have a LS6 intake on the way and I am gonna send my TB to 408trans_am to have it P&P.

Then I will have a true dyno tune done to see what the car makes. Hopefully she comes close to 400 to the wheels.

Then its TSP heads in a few months!

you might want to go to long tube headers also. Especially when you swap heads.

^what he said. You'll make more power with lt's than the mid lengths. Unless you need to keep it smog friendly like some of use

imo is your getting heads in a few months why not get everything at once and install it at once...instead of paying for a tune and retuning once you get lts and heads makes sense dont it unless youre loaded then go for it .....

ls6 manis have been proven countless times to make great hp on many setups i am running a ported 92/92 combo and happy with it and yes they stopped making them so a used one can be found for a decent price

OP with your specs and LT's youll be just over 400 tire easy

^^and to TA7935 that sold his ls6 mani for 450 ....holy **** you raped someone on that...that's brutal (prob someone on ebay lol)

im wondering why the previous went with a serious cam and stayed with a stock intake and mid length headers.
