Default ls1 to ls6 PCV

so i went from my 2000 ls1 pcv valley cover to an ls6. ls1howto says that i need 10" of 5/16" hose, and this entire time i was under the impression that that is all i needed to connect these two (whatever you wanna call'em) together.

after reading the site closely, i noticed that it says to use the PCV that was on the stock ls1. i've since thrown mine away, so i was wondering if i absolutely need to use the PCV on that hose, or can i just run a normal hose and connect the two points? i believe i've seen ppl run without it so i wanted to check.

I believe that pre-bent hose is a GM part only, a few dollars for it. I just did the same conversion. You do not need the PCV inline with that hose if you have the 2004+ style LS6 valley cover.
