FI tuning. What is safe and too safe?
If you were going for a conservative daily driven tune on a forced induction car, say stock ls3 or ls7, what is safe and what is too safe?
11.4 AFR? 11.2? At what point are you just too rich and just wasting fuel or causing issues. What is too little timing? At some point your EGTs are going to just be high because your running so little timing. What is a good baseline to tune for that would be conservative and safe, but not so much it could be doing damage from going too safe.

I'd say 11.7~11.8 is safe. Anything below 11.5 might be a little over doing it. Timing is critical too. I'm not familiar with boosted LS7's...but, I probably wouldn't exceed 16~17* of timing above 3,000 RPM @ WOT on an LS1 motor with the same boost levels. From the factory, the same engine will run 25~29* of timing at WOT. So, it's a 10-12* reduction in timing.

A&A Si-trim on order for my z06. Will be running a 228/236 116lsa cam. 91 octane at 4500ft elevation or so. Trying to decide on an AFR target for safe happy times.

Thanks Ed. Yah my car has about 25-26 degrees up top with 22 or so at peak torque right now. Can you expand on 14 degrees of timing? I had someone else tell me with S/C cars they just run flat timing. So 14 degrees under load? Never touched an F/I car so just trying to get my bearings straight.

I'd run the same profile as the factory spark table. Let it dip some in the peak torque range.

Well if you want to visit SLC, it is pretty this time of year and I have a spare bedroom and access to a dyno.
A&A is suppose to send some base maps with the car. Still need to decide if I'm going to get the injectors from them or just order some different ones like the seimens 60lbs. With the elevation it will probably only see 4-4.5psi of boost so I'm not too worried.
