cause i had it up on pretty crappy jackstands so i couldnt get the car high enough...the top plate wouldnt clear the hole in the floorboard so i took out the four bolts and took out the shifter from the base.

I'm sure you can find something from mcmaster that will work, you can buy pretty much any length/width/strength you can think of

or I'll give you a few bucks for it you can put towards a new shifter and I'll give it a shot rebuilding it

But why did you disassemble the shifter is what I'm not understanding.

You took out the bolt with the blue arrow or red?

the blue...the bronze circle plate would get hung up on the floor board so i took the four bolts out and pulled out the shifter then the bronze plate...then it cleared.

You should have just took out the bolts with the red arrow and lifted the whole thing off. Would have made life a lot easier.

FWIW, I just sold my Pro 5.0 and got a MGW. Sooooo much better.

from his explanation it sounds like he couldn't reach 2 of the bolts that hold it to the transmission for some reason so he took it off from there instead
