Question Procharger j bracket install

I need to know which spacer do I use to mount the j bracket through the factory idler pulley. The install manual just says 1.875" or 1.75". Which do I use? The car is a '98 trans am with an A4 transmission.
Also the install manual says that a 2.65" standoff "could be" used in place of the 2.75" standoff on the lower alternator mounting hole if the bracket is being installed on an A4 car (to remount the transmission cooler lines mounting tab). Would I be correct in thinking "could be" means "needs to be" so the bracket lines up true.
Thanks guys,
Jason

here are some photos describing what i mean. i'msure there is some detail i am overlooking and the answer is probably staring me right in the face, i just can't seem to tell which spacer is the correct. the only thing i can come up with is that the spacer length must be determined by which year the vehicle is. i just don't know which year(s) go to which spacer!

thanks Jason

From what I'm seeing the '98-'99 have a different spacer length than the '00-'02. The only problem is I don't know which spacer is for which model year. which spacer did you use on your car? Is your car a '99?

And the color install guide was compliments of the guy I bought the kit from. He sent it to me in PDF form.

Thanks Jason

Hi Jason, the absolute best way to figure it out is to put it together and see which combination keep the J Bracket parallel with the front of the block. Bob

The 1.875" specer is for '98-'99.
The 1.750" spacer is for '00-'02.

The 2.65" spacer is for Automatic.
The 2.75" spacer is for Manual.

Thank you very much man. Like I said I thought the different size spacers had something to do with model years but I just couldn't figure which year went to which spacer. Thanks again for clearing that up for me man.
