Default Can't hook at track over 3500

I have 02 camaro with 9", 4.30 gears, 275/60 m/t DR tires, m6 with stock motor and exhaust best 1.88 60ft 13.02 @ 107. I would like to leave at about 5500 but it will not hook if I leave over 3500. Would some 90/10 struts help? What do I need to do to get it to hook?

What changes to your suspension have you made? Or is it all stock?

M/T dr are not the best for a M6 car. Regular bias ply et streets are what will really hook

Stop playing around if your not in a DR class & you have a 9" run slicks.
I used to run a 2 step anywhere from 5-6K & get it to hook off a slick.

I'm going to try some coilovers on the rear and some 90/10's up front. If that does not do it I'll just put some slicks on it. Thanks

Trust me I got to the point it didn't matter what tire I had on. If it was @ the strip it had to be on a slick or I felt I was wasting my track time.
Get regular side wall slicks not stiff wall, need to have something in the drivetrain with a little give

Then dial the suspension in. I would pick up the front tires pretty good just H/C/I.
5K+ clutch dump on slicks at about 14 psi. Never lifted the throttle either till I crossed the line.
Now the car is set up for twistys so no more drag set up.
