Default Custom Built Beer Pong Table(UPDATED with Finished PICS)

I have wanted to design and build a beer pong table for a while, and I came into some smoked plexiglass for free, so I decided to tackle the project. I wanted the table to be completely black, with no sign of the lights inside of it when it is off.

I built a small model to start with, and this is what I came up with.

Lights off

Lights on

Up close to see the detail

After I saw it was possible, I came up with a table design.

The design had to be changed, this became the final design of the table top, but it will still follow the lighting scheme in the first design

Here are some progress pics:

All of the lights are on order, but I decided to play with some black lights to get an idea of how it will look.

The table will also have built in ball washers that constantly circulate water, I made these on a HAAS CNC mill.

Let me know what you think, I will keep this updated as I get closer to finishing it.

That looks really good...did you paint it or cover it in a material?

I like it, i hope you have a plan for what you are going to do about all the liquid that gets on the top. I built troughs with drains on the side of mine when i was in college. I think you will find once you get out of school how unpractical that table is. Pong-a -longs are the best thing ever made.

It is spray paint, 2 coats. I am going to use black waterproof failing under the plexi to seal it. Then put a 2nd top clear piece of plexi for protection, and maybe seal the clear piece up too. I have a feeling the top is going to be slick when it gets wet. Maybe tape off the triangle and hit it with a light coat of clear texture paint or something. It is pretty bulky, that's for sure

it did work pretty well, like i said it was only a prototype, never really finished it...got too busy with work. It uses an air pump as well as water pump, the air pump was really too loud for an actual practical application. i pondered a few options, but never pursued any

The bird is for Firebird, the other symbol is the state of Texas, and the triangles on both ends are for where you line up the cups in a pyramid fashion for the game. I never knew people took it this seriously either but this is freakin badass as hell, I wanna do something like this!

How do you leave the parts for the design clear so they aren't covered by any paint and light up when you turn the light on? If I'm ever passing through Rockwall you should let me come by and see it first hand, the design looks awesome man!

As for some of you older guys in here thinking you got BP game, bring it 19 year old college student who still hasn't even reached his prime yet

I painted the backside and machined the design with a CNC mill. The table is actually in Denton, where I go to school. If you are ever passing through feel free to stop by and check it out.
