The stops are not adjustable they are actually built into the part the headlight motors mount to. Sometimes they can break but if they are not broken you can lower both lights and adjust the cover itself

If you remove the black plastic from around the lights you can see the screws that hold the metal door on. Remove those and under the door there are actual adjuster screws that adjust each corner of the light up and down just mess with them till you get it right. Depending on where the gap is you might want to adjust the hood bumpers too

Not all true. When the light is up there are two white plastic screws that are adjustable stoppers. They break easily and in fact all of mine on my two firebirds (98+) are broken. Yours probably are too so they'll just be rattling on the screw. If that's the case then adjusting the lid is the only way.

ya I noticed one of mine has a broken plastic nut and that screw is just hanging there, do you know what the part # for that is? but the door alignment I'm trying to adjust is when the door is closed.

That's what those white thugs adjust is when it's closed. You could use a machine screw and two nuts to replace those and I'm POSITIVE it'll be cheaper than OE parts! I haven't bothered with mine, I just let the motor stop and adjusted the lid by lightly loosening the screws that hold just enough so that it allows the lid to slide but not freely. Lower the light, pull/push the lid, raise the light and tighten the screws.
