Default Hey guys! How does this setup sound?

I'm currently putting an LS1 together off my 02 TA.

Setup is: ms3 cam, 243 P&P heads, ls6 oil pump, ls2 chain, .650 springs, and 7.400 push rods.
All new seals front rear and so on.

Is there something wrong with this setup? First time doing this and just pretty much know how to put it back together lol. But I'm sceptial about this setup. I know I will probably need some better gears because of the MS3 but other then that, what do you guys think?

So this is a LS1 with 243 and a camshaft right?
This setup will get you into the 400BHP class with a new tune.
Ls2 chain and the oil pump want give you anything.
This setup is good, but nothing special really, but will give you some nice daily driving power.
Chris.

NEWB ^^^^

You can expect around 430rwhp or so out of that combo. I would suggest contacting EPS, Pat G to custom grind you a cam. With ported 243s and a cam that large your gonna be maxing out an ls6 intake for sureand your gonna need some injectors as well. I recommend Melling 10296 pump and ls2 chain for extra security. Also do LS7 lifters while the heads are off.

Y 7.4 pushrods? The ms3 is on a smaller base circle? Measure before you buy.

You will need to check pushrod length before you buy them if you haven't already. My guess with the MS3 cam and LS7 lifters you will need a touch shorter pushrods, but always check! I had to go from a 7.4 to 7.350 when I put in the LS7 lifters.

I would suggest getting a custom cam and a fast intake if you come across one

you will have to measure.. there is no guessing.. all setups vary.. get a pushrod length checker or borrow one and read up how to check it

I was just going to suggest adding a fast intake & tb. Don't forget to mill the heads as much as possible for extra horsepower. Good combo. Should go 450-460whp easy with the fast & a good tune. The push rod size should be 7.425 due to the smaller base circle. Since the base circle on the cam is a little smaller, the push rod needs to be a little longer. Good luck!
