Default 01 Z28 M6 vs 08 Z06

Well i decided to run a friends 08 Z06. We went from 70-140-145mph(edited the original mph from 50mph to 70mph as the start of the race). It was dead even in 3rd gear once i went into 4th spun and burned up the clutch and got pulled 1 car just on my shift and then went into 5th and fell back a bit again and lost by a total of 2-2 1/2 cars. I just ordered a 125 shot of nitrous but that wont be enough to pull or keep up either way but maybe just maybe not lose by much. Who knows maybe will try it again. I was using my 100 shot with the bolt ons in my sig. Just wanted to add i was really expecting to lose bad and this guy rubs it in when you lose. In the end the C6 Z06 is just a insanely fast car and i just didnt have enough power to do anything about it.

Nice try though! It took me a stout build 402 to be able to beat a stock C6 Z06. Barely.

Ive driven the Z06 and ZR1's several times and it just amazes me as to how fast they are and how well they put down the power. Once i change my clutch and tires with a 125 shot i should do alot better but in the end i will still get pulled. Its amazing because your hauling a** with in a few seconds going from 50-145mph and your like man im accelerating fast and another car next to you is even faster. In the end i have a 01 LS1 and full bolt ons and nitrous is still probably not enough to beat out a LS7. I dont care what anyone says about the interior an LS7 or LS9 is just fun to drive and in the end you buy these cars just for the simple fact that they put a smile on your face everytime you go WOT or even partial and in the end thats why there are cars like this built.

Nice run, C6Z's are incredible cars and really the only car I aspire to have someday. Performance is great for the money, and they look damn good. Get some tires, a clutch, up the shot and try again! My buddy just picked up a C6Z as well. No way in hell I'll even try until I get some spray lol. And even then I'll lose.

If you go 150 shot then you should be able to edge him if you only got beat by 2 cars. 150 shot vs 100 shot is a difference. Don't do 125 lol.

^^^^ says the guy with the GT

great run... Must be good to say you kept up with one and only lost by 2 or so cars. I would want to drive one or atleast run one, even if I'll get smoked nasty.

Good loss! Just out of curiousity, why not throw a cam in and take out some weight along with the 125 shot?

Nice run! Yeah they really up'd the ante in '06 with those bad boys. Ls7 jammed into a car so light and nimble = . I am still planning for one, however apparently the house comes first

Id like to do a 150 but using a dry system i might be running to lean even with a tune. Ill have to email Frost and see if its possible to do so safely. I know with a 150, tires and clutch i should atleast keep up if not slowly pull but i might be asking too much with that shot especially it being a dry system, just not sure.

A 150 dry shot should not be a problem at all. Looks like you got the tune covered with frost but are you on stock injectors. If you are upgrade your injectors and spray away. My car in sig. has stock fuel pump and FAST 36lb injectors my duty cycle is only 64%

I don't really remember what I paid for them. But I did buy them from Texas-speed if that helps. There are alot of injector options for our cars.

K thanks for the advice. Im gonna run a 125 shot when i get the jet in the mean time. I should be ok with that for now and then when i step up a bit to the 150 i will get better injectors. I need to put it on the dyno and see what my A/F is make sure everything is ok there as well.

Goods race.

In your other thread you mentioned that the run was going to be from 3rd gear. Did you both really start in 3rd at 50 mph?
