Just got a mail from the shop that turns these LS7s out.
They are not CA smog legal.
Ok, on to plan B what ever the Hell that is.
I'm just not going to be happy with this LS1 unless it's throwing out 600 plus and be street legal.

It sounds like it will be a blast if you get it, however it's not exactly a "shoehorn" The LS1 and LS7 while much different in displacement and power, are dimensionally identical. With the exception of some sensors in different places, The LS7 is a direct bolt-in.

Yes that's true about them both being identical in physical size.
My comment about shoe horning is related to all the other work that goes along with installing a 600 + HP engine into a car that normally has around 300 +.
Around here, we have a Lambo, a few new vettes, a real nice Cobra 427 and some others.
They are smog legal so, I should be able to find a solution to this LS1 performance increase.
I'm not a big fan of spray on HP for the street.
Maybe a nice turbo, cam and injectors can get me close.
Again, it needs to pass the CA bull ****.
I am serious though.
The thought of paying out 16k in coin for a street motor is bull **** too.

The Cobra 427 is likely registered as a historic car or kit car, and probably exempt from emissions, because it sure as hell is not passing them without cats. Either that or its register outside of cali, or the guy is slipping money under the table to make it pass.

But if you really have 16+Gs to spend and want a big power CA legal steer car, spend it toward a C6 Z06...

I'll have the 16k by November's end when I finish off a bike build for someone.
The Z06 thing is nice as I always wanted a vette but, I don't want anymore payments.
The only payment I have today is my house.
I feel free.

I'm not moving from CA though for sometime if any. (aging parents to watch over)
It there's a way to do it, I'll find the way.
Still, this WS6 stays in the family.
If anyone has been through this, shoot me your ideas / outcomes.
