Smile FiberGlass WS6 Hoods

I'm now in the market for a Ram Air Hood (Ws6 Style) and was wondering who was the best manufacturer to buy from. I've seen a few pics from VFN and the people that have purchased it but not enough to be set with buying from there. Please post pictures of your car/hoods from aftermarket companies or simply state where I should look for one. Preferably not ebay because most of those hoods don't show the hoods on the car itself.

Thanks!

Default hoods

I don't have pictures, but I have a Truefiber hood that I purchased from the WS6 store. I had free shipping last year and it was a pretty good fit for the price.

bump...I would like to hear more comments myself. $500 for a hood...then another $1000 to have it fit and painted isn't much of a bargain. There has to be some good ones that don't require all the work.

I know I didn;t pay that much to have my local Chevy bodyshop paint and install it for me. I've heard all aftermarket hoods need a little body work to make them fit perfectly.

Tru fiber is a good fit with few issues - VFN is pretty good too.

I ordered a VFN WS6 hood. No fitment issues. Shop said it was best fiberglass hood they had every seen, cost 250 to get it prepped and painted because of little work needed. Its the hood in my profile picture

Keep on the look out for someone in your area selling an OEM hood. Maybe you can find one in your colour

If it were me id keep my eye out for an OEM. I have a 5" pin on VFN and fitment was very good. Mine is extended to the windshield so ofcourse I had to fit it there but the rest was great.

That is really good to hear. Were you happy with the hinge and strut mounts? Hood latch mounts? All good and solid?

I found one in Texas for $1600 shipped. They wanted another $250 for the air box. I should have taken it. I haven't found anything close to that since. One in Las Vegas for that price, but the wrong color.

As far as hood struts I did order and put on a pair of the VFN struts to relieve the tension and pressure of the factory struts on the fiberglass hood. I've heard stock struts can eventually lead to stress cracks because they are designed for the heavy factory hood.
