Default 90 TA vs 96-98 cobra

As I was cruising to my friends house I see some lights behind me tailgating me. I ignore and at the light he gets next to me. I see it's a white cobra vert. 2 guys in it, they asked me how much did I pay for my car and if it's stock. That was a pretty random question about how much I would pay for my car. Lol. So as we wait for the light we both get ready because we know it's on....
Light turns green and we take off, we take off even, both hit 2nd and stay even, I hit third, about a second later he hits 3rd. He starts to pull about a fender on me (nooo I say in my head) by the mid of 4th he had a solid car on my and I let off. Second run was a little closer. Roll race from around 30 and by top of 4th I was only about a Bumber away. After all I lost but had fun. He gave me props and "said good job keeping up with me." I said thanks and we went on our way.

I think what you meant to say, was how impressive it is, that 6-8 years of engineering only made that Ford pull a bumper on the GM car made in 1990.

Nice death OP. Sounds like a real good run you had there. If you were in your LS1 T/A the outcome would have been much different. Oh well win some you lose some.

if losing to a convertible 4.6 with an extra 200-250lbs is impressive.....need i say more.

4.6 305hp/300lb-ft --3600lbs+200lbs passenger......vs.

5.7 3500lbs.

not really impressive when nutswinger 'facts' are filtered.

I love GTA's. strong running cars for their day. ahead of their time IMO. but not impressive vs a heavy car with merely adequate power.

I'm not trying to spin it. What I said is factual and absolutely true.

Either way I had fun. My car was fully loaded aswell. I have a trunk and backseat full of tools, from Jack stands to my 2ton Jack to hand tools. Plus full tank. So I think the weight for me wasn't excatly 3500. Why do I carry all that? I don't. I brought the stuff from work and was to lazy to take them out when I got home lol.

Very true, I see the guy around a lot. Maybe I'll catch him around with my WS6 haha.

I would have to say that the TA did reasonably well considering that the Coba had 6+ years of technology on the TA. However, on the other side, it was a convertible and had an additonal dude in the car. That could have easily added up to another 350 to 400lbs difference.

Regardless, the outcome sounds about right and all parties involved had fun. That is what counts.

I always have fun. Win or loose that's what matters most of the time. On the 400 Lbs difference, I wouldn't, say so much. I also had all my tools and other stuff in my car, plus full tank. I think if I would have had nothing in the car but me and half tank it would of been closer.
