What is the QUIETEST muffler I can buy for my lt1 f body?
So I guess you can add me to the list of people who have a flowmaster, and can't stand it anymore, and I need a change. I honestly like the way it sounds most of the time, but it is impossible to leave my house unnoticed, and sometimes it would just be nice to blend in a little more.
So my question is what is the quietest muffler I can buy. I'm thinking of a stock muffler, and an electric cutout, so I can still be loud, as I enjoy it 80% of the time. Is there anything that will be quieter than stock?
I already bought the flowmaster catback, so I don't want another catback. Just a simple bolt on, or weld on single inlet, dual outlet muffler.

Get the Pypes Exhaust cat-back. It comes with (2) muffler options. Violator and the Race Pro. Violator is aggressive and the Race Pro is quiet. The Race Pro is similiar to the Magnaflow but its much much quieter and the dual rear exit remains 3" out of the muffler. It is mellow and becomes aggressive when you drive aggressive.

Stock mufflers suck, and kill HP. I took my Flowmaster 40 series off and replaced it with a summit racing turbo muffler and it alot better. You can not hear it at idle and it still has a little sound when you get on it.

I'm in the same boat, got a Flowmaster catback and it is awfully loud and sounds like a redneck truck. I just bought the pypes race pro, going to give it a try since all I'll have to change is the muffler itself. I'll post results once I get it in.

I have the adjustable borla set on super quiet. I also have a cutout under the car near the passenger seat. If you wanted to you could put a cutout at the adjustment flange.( it came with plates with different sized holes to bypass the muffler and go straight out the tailpipe, excellent place to put a cut out)

Just put the Pypes Race Pro on my car, it is definitely quiter than the Flowmaster, but is still louder than stock. Sounds a whole lot better now. Still gonna be a little drone, but that's because of my LTs.

Haha, j/k, that's just a bad example man. I used to work 3rd shift, and when I had my 97 Camaro Z28 with a flowmaster catback, the neighbors would complain when I returned home a 7am.
I'd say go with the pypes Race Pro, to quite for my taste but probably perfect for you, and very noticeable at WOT.
