Version 2.0 H/C/I to Procharged D1sc?
Hey guys, really kicking myself doing heads and cam in my ls1. Just not what I thought it would be, kinda wish I went FI right off the back. So Im gonna save up and go the procharged route. I have searched for some time now but still have a few questions. My goal is just have a fun street car that uses pump gas.
I was told a D1sc would be best for my setup?
Should I switch to 60 lb injectors? I do plan to add another 255 pump.
Should I switch the cam to a blower cam, wondering about the overlap with this one.
I know I have a little bit to high of compression for boost, should I go meth injection?
The specs on the motor.
347 forged LS1 11:1 compression
PRC Stg 2.5 LS6 Heads
232/236 114lsa cam
LS6 Intake Ported TB
42' injectors 1 walbro 255 pump
Performabuilt 4l60e
9.5 billet 3600 converter
10 bolt 4.11 Locker
Thanks Chris

I understand completely. Head cam cars are nice, but no matter what, you're not going to get the torque out of them that makes them fun on the street. Sure, you can run some good times at the track with a nice heads/cam setup, but you'll be hard pressed to push 420-440 ft/lbs of torque out of it.
Now forced induction is another story. It's nothing to be able to make 500 ft/lbs of torque out of a good setup once properly tuned and optimized. Torque is fun.

I think you'll be fine with 8psi or so. I would add meth for saftey but overall not to bad. That cam isn't horrible either. With my D1SC combo on my stock motor with 317 heads and a ZO6 cam at 10psi I put down 590/563. Like The Alchemist said your going to be hard pressed to find a H/C full bolton car that is as fun and it won't put down near the over all power. I say go for it!

So talked to my buddy last night. And talked it over with him. New plan is to run a single bosch 340 pump, 80lb injectors, keep the heads and cam, and just see how they work with the procharger. If something is a skew, we will change course of fire when that happens. Oh and custom FMIC.

I love head and cam car dont get me wrong, heck my car is beating some kid with a procharged mustang running faster times and puts down more power. It was just spray or s/c. I personally think this is the best set up for my car while only changing minimal things.
and its gonna be a while to save for all this but it will be worth it

Im switching from h/c nitrous to D1 procharger with meth in like two weeks. It so true you always want more! When I wasnt on the bottle I felt like my NA 424hp car was a honda! Plus our track here in St. Louis was closed for a year with no hope of opening back up. So I was tired of filling up nitrous bottles to just drive it to work and back lol Im keeping the nitrous stuff though for when I go forged. You cant beat 500rwtq at 3000rpms. Good luck with your build!! Beware you go way over budget fast at least I did fml

I heard the same thing. I live in the alton area, but not in alton lol. I can't decide on which route to go with my car. Procharger or turbo. T56 or th400. Keep ac or delete it. To many damn choices.

Take a look at the above link, the 60lb injectors and the FAST fuel pump can be deleted in the options list at the bottom of the page, in case you want to go with larger injectors and a different fuel combination. Bob

Am I the only one who thinks 80 lb injectors might be overkill unless you're REALLY planning to crank the boost up high? In that case there are other details of your setup that should be changed first. I didn't see you mention how much boost you want to run, but going off of the recommended 8 PSI, 60 lb injectors should be more than enough too get the job done. Also, why did you choose that fuel pump if I may ask? Never seen someone run that one before, never even heard of it actually
