heads/cam problem
I have a 98 camaro that had a vengance racing vindicator cam only in it, and the car made 400rwhp and 373 rwtq. So I decided this summer to buy some heads for my car, and picked up a brand new set of 243's from a friend. I also put some 42# injectors in the car along with an MS3 cam from texas speed. I had to change cams because the vindicator had some wearing issues and the guy that was putting it together had an MS3 sitting around. I got the car tuned, and everything was spot on --12.8 a/f @ 28* of timing. When I went and put the car on the dyno I was surprised when the car only made 408 rwhp 390rwtq on a dynojet dyno. I am just wondering what could be wrong?? The car should be making 430+ rwhp from what I have researched on this site with this set up.
details on my car:
---new set up---
built m6
125,xxx miles
stock ls6 intake/TB
42lb Injectors
Texas Speed MS3 on 112 lsa
Ported brand new 243 ls6 heads
ARP rod bolts
SLP air lid
SLP smooth bellows
ngk tr6
longtubes and a texas speed y pipe with and electric cut-out.
---old set up---
m6
98,xxx
stock ls6 intake/TB
stock injectors
Vengance Racing Vindicator on a 112lsa
stock 806 heads
ARP rod bolts
shorty headers, and a rigged up y pipe with electric cut-out.

what rpm did you take the new setup to? i know that ms3 likes the revs and did you use the same dyno? i would change those spark plugs to ngktr55's, not the reason for your lower dyno numbers im sure, but if im not badly mistaken the tr6's are more for nitrous applications.

Not the same EXACT dyno but they were both dynojets. I spun both set ups to 6800, and the tr6's were because I planned on spraying the car with a 125 shot.

The guy that did my work is a very reputable builder and said that the bottom end was good. I know he did NOT do a compression though. The engine builder took my heads to a guy that he has used on a bunch of his other builds and hasnt had any problems with him.
