First Impressions CTSV700
Impressions of the V700 package
Started her up and the cam sounded perfect. She purred perfectly at 900rpm with no hiccups. Slipped it into first gear and rolled out of Hennesseys, keeping it in first to see if any surging or uneven idles were prevalent. Nothing. Felt stock even. Getting onto I-10 I bring her up to 3500-5000rpms to test out the new setup. The stock exhaust with the American Racing headers is a perfect note. Not to loud... Not to quiet. The boost comes on strong, clutch and transmission feel great and the mid range of this car is simply insane compared to stock. Cruising again at around 65 I put her in 6th gear to see if any surging takes place and again nothing. Thinking to myself this has to be the most tamed "cam modified" cars I have ever owned. Not a blurp anywhere at any rpm. As I am getting onto 249 from the Beltway I test out the new suspension setup that Hennessey offers (extra option if wanted over the 700 package). Speeding into the wide turn on 249 going north bound I am doing around 90mph and it honestly feels as good if not better then the ZR1. (I cannot wait to see what this thing can do at MSR/TWS in the fall). No popping, rubbing just squat and go.
I get her back home in the garage and look back at the stance, muscle and luxury this car offers. What a machine. For the money (under 100k total with Johns Package) You have a 4 door 700hp sedan with an interior that rivals most super-cars (optional suede Recaro package) and the performance that is on par to some of the fastest production cars in the world... I honestly see why I wanted this car again. I am even tempted to sell the ZR1 knowing its not going to be driven any more with this sitting next to it.
If anyone is in the market and owns a CTSV in the Houston area feel free to contact me and I can let you experience this car first hand.
Thanks again Hennessey for one amazing machine!!

I'd trust Hennessey to work on my cars. The horror stories are from several years ago and mostly with 2 or 3 customers, things have turned around since then. John has worked hard to re-establish his business.
Garett, I'm not surprised you bought another CTS-V. I was more surprised you sold your first one. They are great cars, mine is one of my favorite cars I've owned.
