Finally My Strano Drop!
Well i finally dropped my ride after 2 years of owning the car.
My stock **** had 169000 miles on it and i replace it with a Strano/Bilstein combo.
My measurements before were fronts 27.5 and now they are 26.2 and my rears were 28 and now they are 27.3 and im using the stock rear isolater that came with the car.
for some reason the drivers side sits a little higher than the passenger...i dont know why but i think all cars do that....my 87 iroc did the same thing even after a spring/shock change.
whatcha think?
I think it looks pretty damn sweet!!!!!

much better.
and about the drivers side sitting a little higher than the passenge that is normal.
gm made it that way so that when you sit in the drivers seat the car will compensate for it.

Looks good. Your car is not supposed to lean. Check your rear springs and make sure they're both facing where get he coil at the top of the spring points toward the front of the car. I bet they're facing different directions, that will cause that

hmm the only thing that comes to mind is that all rwd cars twist towards the passenger side thus making the driverside sit higher then the passenger. Think how when you launch a car, the left front tire pulls up more then the right.

Looks much better. The rear would look good dropped a tad more. Maybe the hose mod would help even them out. I wanna do strano/bilstein but I read that the shocks won't last as long with strano springs. Does anyone know how long the bilsteins will last with stranos?

depends on how much you drive, your style of driving, if you run any tracks or events with the car and the road conditions on which the car is driven.. lots of factors come into play but Strano does recommend koni's if you plan to beat on the car a lot or want a shock that will last a long time.

You're supposed to use the revalved bilsteins with a drop spring. You are correct in that most stock replacement shocks won't last long with a drop spring because they're not designed to do their job in such a short travel distance. KYB's are a cheap option that will work, they're usually about $100 apiece. I used those with my Strano springs for a long time until I got a deal on a set of Koni's

I've read that explanation a billion times throughout the years and it still doesn't make any sense to me. How many other cars do you see on the road sitting lop-sided? The 3rd Gen cars pretty much used the same chassis as the 4th Gens and I've never noticed those cars sitting like that. Oh well...

No, the Strano/revalved Bilsteins is going to be a better setup. If you're looking to go on a budget though, the single adjustable KYB's are the cheapest ones out there, and I never really had any problems with them. The car honestly rode like a Cadillac (mostly due to the springs), and I ran an 11.08 on that setup. I haven't gotten a chance to ride on the Strano/Koni setup in my car yet due to not having my motor done and in the car yet, but I'm sure it'll perform better than before
