SLP Blackwing Air Lid
Hey guys/gals.
Any idea what these lids are bringing in these days? I've done some searching and haven't been able to find any recent sales on these. Most recent being 2010, which makes me believe these are becoming even more rare and not many are being sold any more.
The lid was originally purchased new from SLP back in 2002 by myself. The car the lid came off of is a 2002 35th LE SS with 21,000 miles on it.
The lid is about as good of condition as it can be for being 9 years old.

I believe this is the sellers second time around trying to sell it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/98-02...item3f0eb9b476 I'm not sure about the price I'd say 250-300 on a good day. There was a few on ebay that were listed at 400 buy it now, and I don't think they ever sold.

From what I could find in years past, it looks like the $300 was about what they were going for then. I just couldn't find any for sale recently.

With that said... they used to bring a good $300+ a couple years ago. I just sold mine, literally this week, for $275 shipped. I did have to sit on it and pass over a few low ball offers but ended up getting it sold after a couple months.

They give you the fit of OEM with the flow of an aftermarket... I feel they are a bit overpriced but you should have no problem getting 300 for it... someone on here will most likely pay that, assuming it is MINT like you say

For the OP... be patient and youll get good money for it. Forgo all the low ball offers and wait for the right one.

I have one on my 02 hawk and the fit is like everyone else has said it is OEM. It is a solid piece. If you want something that fits the same and flows the same but is a **** ton cheaper look into this https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...-lid-pics.html

I own two. I bought each of them for right around $200. Yes, they fit nicer than the aftermarket ones and look OEM, which is why I paid $200 when I can get a used regular SLP/MTI/etc. lid for $50-75.
I like them, but not one of those fanatics who think they are made of gold and worth $400.

Guy did a nice job but I think I'd just **** up two perfectly good lids doing that.

Yeah I'm not trying to strike gold with this thing by any means, just don't want to end up stiffing myself.
I took it off the car this summer when I put the Procharger on so I'm just weighing my options with moving it.

It brings that price because its a discontinued SLP piece, same reason the dual/dual,2OTL, LT1 SS airbox and firehawk airboxes bring big money, because the guys that own them collect and show them, and having a spare part never hurts. Having said that the Blackwing lid does not make more or even the same as an aftermarket, I've seen several people say they pick up 5 rw by switching. Also I'm not sure why everyone has fitment issues, I've owned 2 lids that were supposed to be awful, Granatelli and an MTI clear lid and had no issues with either
