Default Lokar tranny dipstick will not fit

I got a
FLEXIBLE TRANSMISSION DIPSTICK GM 700R4 4L60E 4L65E

It does not seem to fit. I took the rubber insert out, but the dipstick seems a little too thick to fit in my 4L465e. has anyone else had a problem with this. I don't know if I should return it, or turn down the inserted side a little on a lathe.

Lokar trans dipstick is the worst thing I've bought for my car.

There is nothing I like about it, but it is a bitch to get in/out, the plastic dipstick likes to curl up and hang in the sleeve when putting it back, and the sleeve is too small which makes it difficult to fill fluid except with the tiniest of funnels which takes forever.

Junk IMO.

Are there any good Lokar-alternatives available?

i put a small amount of Right stuff at the base of the dipstick and tapped it in, had to tap it kinda hard. But its 100% leak free.

It was easy to mount where on the firewall.

The new dipstick is a metal rope and works great.

The adapter tube does suck, but overall its nice.

Costs way too much!!

But with the clearance issues behind the motors on some swaps its hard to find an alternative.

I first use a Monster Transmission dipstick. But i installed it before installing the engine and trans. then after having the trans rebuilt i forgot to install the dipstick, instead of droping the trans again i just bought the Lokar one.

Looking back it only takes 15minutes to drop the trans. and i dont know how i will be able to remove this one.

Mine was tight on my 4l80 but no leaks, way better than the stocker.

I've used four Lokars in LS/4L60E swaps. First was the plastic dip stick. Not great but it worked. The last three were the metal type.

A bit of lube to help install and a rtv around the tube, the results are no leaks.

What are the alternativeves to the ugly stock dipstick?
