Default Swapping auto shift handles?

Quick question...

Would swapping the shift handle on my Camaro to the "T" style handle of the Firebird/TA be just a matter of popping the clip and replacing? or is there more work to be done?

Thanks!

As far as I know the ***** are interchangable. And the t handle is much nicer than the top button on the camaro

Direct swap..

I would go to something else though.. Just about any gm product from that era will work.. ie grand prix *****.

I'm running a shortened shifted with an adaptor so I can run an m6 ball.6 speed center console boot etc.. Looks much cleaner imo.

Awesome sounds good.

Yeah i know there are other options that may look abit better but I really love the feel of the T-Handle as opposed to the top button style...

As for Samaro, oops!

Suzuki Samurai with a camaro front clip and LS power maybe???

lol

Would you happen to have a Photo of your shifter? Sounds Interesting.

All I have completed right now is the shortened A4 shifter and the adapter to run an M6 ball.

I have so many projects I'm spending money on right now it is stupid.

I am waiting to find a good deal for the M6 ebony upper center and trying to decide if I want to do a factory boot or have someone custom make a suede boot. I will be going with the metal retainer ring so I don't have to mess with it breaking.

It is on the more expensive end from most peoples setups but IMO will look much much better, as it should look in an M6 from the factory, with a nicer boot and a nicer ball.

I have like 50$ in it so far with the shortened shifter and the adapter. I will probably have around 250$ or so in it in all but it will be what I want!

I'm personally not a fan of a boot with the stock setup.. Looks, I don't know... cramped?... Just not for me.
That handle does look nicer though.

How about this:
I don't think it looks cramped.

Does the boots bind when putting the car into the lower gears?

Better pic below of mine in park

FYI, the Grand Am/Impala/Monte Carlo shift boots have four strips of elastic sewn in to keep them from binding the shifter. In Neutral, Drive, and 3rd, it looks bunched up but thats the elastic doing its job
