..any recommendations for lowering packages around $250..i know eibach has a couple sets but they only drop 1.50'' in the front and 1.75'' in the rear..also if you have installed a kit yourself on an fbody what all do i need to do to keep a little travel for the springs and shocks..school me

Why do you want a 2" drop?

What do you mean by "keep a little travel"? If you want more travel you buy springs that don't drop as much. And 2" springs (like sportlines) have you sitting on your bumpstops.
Have you tried to use the forum search yet?

2 inch is way too much. If you want the best ride koni 4/4 shocks and stock springs.

It can be done - Sportlines or try to find a set of Intrax springs. Search for the JasonWW upper mount mod to get a good inch of travel in the front and just remove the bumpstops in the rear. As long as you dont drive like a moron, bottoming out shouldnt be an issue. Granted, I drive like an old lady, but I have yet to bottom out

the car is a daily driver but being setup like a road racer..so for springs i'm looking for the shorter higher rated ones that allow me to drop up to 2inches and some shocks with enough compression to keep me safe (from damage) as i navigate around daily potholes etc..i'm very careful with how i drive even at stock ride height but i'm looking for packages that will increase the overall stance as well as improve (lessen) the body roll threw corners dramatically..as far as travel goes i'm guessing i just need stiffer springs to go with that low of a drop so that i decrease the chance of damaging anything exiting and entering potholes etc..

Just make sure you do your homework before dropping one of these cars that much. Id go ahead and get your fenders rolled, get an adjustable phb, search and get an idea where you may/may not have to bfh, etc. Also, I know the route im taking every time im in my car, I know every little dip and high spot on every street in a 5mi radius of my house...wouldnt hirt to do the same

He will figure out all the dips and bumps when its lowered. Mine is lowered about that low and its stupid.

I'm with VinR1 and cookba. You need to do a LOT more research before doing a purchase and install! What are the overall goals of the car? You mentioned being a DD, but set-up for road racing. A two inch drop without extreme suspension mods and $$$$ will make your car ride like crap (and not road race worthy). Try and visit a race event you're interested in and talk to any F-Body owner there to see what they run, and WHY they run it. I may be bias suggesting this, but my first thought is to call Sam Strano for advice for the set-up you are looking for. After that there are many racers that do a number of DIFFERENT racing and set up there car differently for any such racing event. It can get VERY in depth depending on what type of event you want to run, where you run said event and the weather depending on where/when you run said event. A 90% DD/10% "road race" car is far differant than a 10% DD/90% "road race" car. You also need to make sure you really differenciate between Road Race (HDPE), AutoX, weekend Canyon Carving, etc....along with still being somewhat or everyday DD car. May be a long reply, but I hope it helps.

I wouldn't drop the car 2-inches unless you do it the safe way. We offer 1-inch lowering A-arms. This doesn't impact the shock travel but will lower it an additional inch for a total drop of 2.25 inches when combined with our springs. The GMHTP Project STi Killer just installed these with Koni as a road race setup. It looks pretty cool. This will only drop the front of the car.

+1 on the upper mount mod. It helps alot with the ride on lowered cars. I shaved a little off my rear bumpstops. Has anyone drilled holes sideways though their rear bumpstops to make them softer? Just wondering if something like this would work?

This is why i was asking why you want a 2" drop, thats too much for a handling setup, you need the suspension to work and have some travel to handle.

.what kind of prices can i be looking at for that type of setup?

Well, thankfully, we engineered our lowering A-Arms to retain full suspensions travel while reducing ride height approximately one inch. It's great for people looking to retain their factory springs and drop the car or, in this case, building a road race car. Lowering the center of gravity is alway beneficial in a handling setup, but simply lowering a car 2-inches with springs will cut your suspension travel and can have a negative impact on corner carving.

I will say that lowering your car this much will not be fun on the street at all. You WILL have problems with speed bumps, pot holes, and anything with an incline/decline.
