I don't think "how much?" is the question so much as "for how long?". The 5.3l is pretty stout but at 600RWHP and above you're kind of playing with fire. The tune needs to be spot on in either case, but more so at the higher power levels. Many many people have ran the 5.3l boosted for thousands of miles.

I plan on going this same route. I'm hoping to get 8 months to a year out of it at ~650 rwhp or so. At that point, I'm probably going to turn it up and see what it puts out.

I think a lot will be determined by your method of producing boost. Along with the fuel and CR you use. The tune quality goes without saying.

I'm using a Procharger, but it's not ideal if you are looking for the highest wheel hp out of a power limited stock bottom end. At the 700 rwhp airflow level and 20 psi of boost, the Procharger will consume about 110 crank hp. By comparison, a turbo is nearly free (if we ignore inefficiencies created by having a blockage in the exhaust stream.

This means 600 rwhp on a Procharged setup will be stressing the engine like say 680 rwhp if you were using a turbocharger. So, if there is some 'limit' at which parts start to let go, you will reach it earlier with supercharger than you will with a turbocharger.

Hence I'm a bit worried about trying to get 700 rwhp out of the motor with an F1A Procharger. I'm just hoping if I go with a low CR and tune very carefully with the E85, it will have a chance.

Iam not realy worried about the motor because 5.3 are a dime a dozen compared to 6.0 or eney other ls blocks Hopfully pick 1 up in the next 2 months when snow starts

Take it to 30 psi and see what happens?? If u just want to blow one, give it to me and I'll tell everyone u put down 1386 rwhp in a yugo... Just have a really really good tuning guy and see how far u can take it by stepping up the power level slowly...

Pretty sure Skinnies dyno'ed his 5.3 at 24 lbs with the Precision 76mm and made 885rwhp and 1145 rwtq. His engine has been around for awhile (10K plus miles).

Stock L33, arp headstuds, ls9 head gaskets, gt2-3 cam, patriot springs, hardned 7.4's, ls6 intake, stock tb, 80lb injectors on E85. Also, he put up those numbers through a glide. He also went 8.68 at 164. Just goes to show what a well laid out setup and awesome tuning can do.
