Default Cammed 3 Valve GT vs G8 GT **Warning: Night Time Vids**

Fun races with a friend. His car has been down for 2 months so he was ready to get out there and beat the hell out of it

Damn, awesome runs! And even on the last run, your car moved from a dig! That freaking G8 bugs me how fast it is in the upper gears lol. Watching the runs with my brother's TA you guys were pretty even through the first 2 gears and then it was lights out.

As far as the mustang, thats the reason I sold mine. Those 3 valves really do need boost or nitrous to go fast. Not hating, just the honest truth. They just seem to fall on thier face in top end.

His car definitely moves the hell out from a dig, but it does fall off up top. We'll see if his winter mods change that

The first race he had an awesome launch. We ran it out well past the 1/4 mile and I wasn't close to passing him.

He definitely got you in the first race, but man your car pulls up top! Nice races!

Thanks! His car is downright NASTY from a dig. We had a run right before these where he got out on me and it looked like I was catching him sooner, but he missed 3rd gear so we aborted. He said that his car hooked so well that he decided to launch it harder the next run, and that's the 1st run you see in this video. Great driving on his part for that run. At the track he should easily beat my ET.

For the basic mods I have so far, I'm very pleased with my car's top end charge. It pulls very hard in the 100+ mph range, so usually if someone is close with me down low, I'll walk up top, although there have been exceptions.

Yeah I was surprised how far out he got. You still have the stock converter right?

Yeah, stock converter until I can get a drag radial on the car. On the street it's right at the limit for decent traction. Any more power, gear, or converter and I think it will spin pretty bad. Even as it sits it will probably not hook well once the temps really drop.

Yeah the G8s are geared long so it almost helps traction on street tires. The converter will definitely help with the DRs. Either way, the 3 valve ran pretty good to hold you off that long.

Thanks guys.

Not sure why he decided to go with such a mild cam setup, especially since he plans to take the build further but stick naturally aspirated for now. It sounds great though.

The sight of your ~4100lb sedan pulling that hard on top-end is amazing

The G8 sounds fantastic too. Those are some mild cams for the Mustang

Too bad I have so many other toys I want to get. The G8 sure appears to be a fun DD

MUstang runs great down low and shitty up top because he has 4.30s. Hes probably topping out 4th gear not long after 105mph.

My G8 actually weighs a touch under 4000lbs without a driver. It was 3990 stock and the exhaust dropped a couple lbs. Makes me shake my head when I see so many newer 2 door cars that weigh close to or over what a G8 weighs.

I think the 28" tires help give him back some mph and I would think redline is well over 6k. I would guess 4th tops out around 120 mph, but I would have to ask him to be sure. Either way, the gearing isn't helping him once we get moving.

Yeah I'm not sure either, you may want to tell him to change them lol. They are basically for the sound only. Much like the old E-cam for the pushrod 5.0, pointless but damn they sound good lol

Getting the Z28 fixed is high on my list, but as far as the G8 goes, I want to swap my nitrous kit from the Z28 to the G8 and then get some 18" wheels with drag radials for it.
