Default Anyone with Exp with Wegner ported 243 heads

Wegner Motorsports (Nascar & Grand Am Engine builders) sells a new casting
ported 243 head with REV valves, comp valve job etc for 1299.

Has anyone had any experience with this particular head?

Thinkin' about matching this with a 383 short block in a road race app. (carbureted)

Wegner is the company that provides heads for the Nascar Spec Engine used in the K&N East/West series. I doubt you could go wrong there with a carbed race engine. They pretty well have that figured out. I am planning on getting a set of those heads fairly soon through some connections I have with the series.

The porting on these heads is done by Wegner and the assembly by Competition Products. Not sure if it is the same porting program as used for the K&N Series.

I have a set on my C5 making the numbers in my signature. LS2 intake, Wegner LS6 heads touched up (can't remember the flow numbers off the top of my head), comp 224/230 .582/.591 cam, full exhaust, m6 transmission.

Yeah I dont think it would be the K&N series program but I strongly doubt they'd send you in the wrong direction. Granted I have pretty much minimal experience with them I was just a crew member/engine tuner for a K&N team I didn't deal with them directly. I just know our Spec engine made low 600s at the crank and high 500s at the wheels.

Do you know if they were using 243's or L92/LS3 heads.

Digging out of the archive

I just ordered these from my friend (who Manages Competition Products) for my 04 GTO.
I stopped by his office to take a look at them and they look really nice.
Can't wait to get them on my car!!

+1 for number Hifi. And a dyno chart, I want to see what the whole curve looks like and if they're appropriate for a build geared toward low end torque.
