Default Trying to find my dad's old 1969 Camaro

Howdy folks,

It's been a long while since I have posted.

However, recently I have been interested on finding my dad's old 1969 Camaro that we had for several years and showed during that time.

This is what I have thus far:

The car was last registered in Nebraska 9/18/98 and was sold shortly thereafter to a Nebraska man. The cars VIN is 124379N671259.

If anyone has a way to run that VIN and find it I would be greatly interested.

CarFax won't have any information on his vehicle. They can only run vehicles with 17 digit VINs.

I can tell you that the VIN number doesn't come up in a lot of states including Nebraska. Either the car has been destroyed or it just disappeared.

We had a local Police officer run the VIN and nothing came back.

So, either the car is now a race car and therefore doesn't need to be registered. The car is possibly sitting around or it has been destroyed.

However, two of those options could necessitate for insurance. So, if there is a way to run the VIN through a massive insurance archive. That might be the next place to look. I'll post up in craigslist as well.

This is my favorite 'hunting down an old Camaro' story. And possibly a couple of tips.
