Need to know if u had any valve clearance issues with them. Please, someone who has actually done it. The heads are milled 30 thousandths and valve ground

There are tons of folks with 317's on LS1 short-blocks. What are you wanting to know? If it's piston to valve clearance you're looking for, it'll be virtually identical to an LS1 head milled .030". You can clear about a 230º @ .050" intake lobe without flycutting, assuming you still have true flat-top pistons.

I agree, an LS6 head would be the better choice with a relatively large camshaft. The extra compression will be a welcomed addition for an NA or nitrous combo!

What about some 5.3 heads?? 243's arent cheap. And i might be able to swap for some 5.3. But thwy dont flow like 243's at all. . 317's do. And id like to keep near stock compression. Thats y i got milled 317's. So the p2v clearance wont work??
