Fat tires leave less room for error and runout from
the Panhard angle change over travel. Lowered car
is further into the travel to begin with. It's a degree
of freedom you need when changing other pieces.
Panhard has no real bending moment if its joints are
free, just tension and compression against screw
threads. If you bend the 1/2" threaded rod there's
something bad going on.
