Default stock shortblock madness! D1+Nitro daves plate kit= 864 rwhp




Red is the bottle pass, nitrous only after peak torque
Green is boost only

The story goes like this:


99FRC
Stock Ly6 shortblock (low compression Iron LS2)
stock LS3 heads
stock LS3 intake
mild cam
RSI dual pump hanger/ LG Fuel system
D1SC stock lower, 3.6 upper ( 13-14 psi)
100 octane
dual nozzle Alkycontrol meth kit
Nitro daves plate kit, pilled @ 100hp
Centerforce DYAD twin


http://youtu.be/YWtzmQr9oN0 Against Mullet/Joe Dirt with the famous TT Ford GT last weekend, but pulled at 50, which netted 817.

Thought you guys would like the beating were giving the ole' stock shortblock

There were in all 5 passes pilled at 50, and 2 pilled at 100. We are tearing it all down to see how it looks.

2007–present Chevrolet Silverado HD
2007–present GMC Sierra HD
2007–present Chevrolet Suburban 3/4 ton
2007–present GMC Yukon XL 3/4 ton


Gen4 6.0... I thought it was a 6.2, but its a 6.0.

So basically, it's a 6.0 lq4 engine with a ls3 head conversion?

yes basically with piston fly cut,,and better rods.. this is freakin awesome..im finishing up my turbo ly6 setup.. excited to see what it does..

Thats insane that its holding that much power. A forged 370 should be good for like 1300 whp then?

Basically, yes. A Gen4 6.0, which apparently has better internals.

Do you have any more info regarding the breakdown of the engine? I have yet to search, but the customer installed it in the car. We did the fuel system and its been bouncing between us and another shop for the last year while we increased the boost and fixed the inlet, and then added spray

As long as the tune up is SPOT on, the late model Gen4 stuff ( LS2/3/7 + Truck stuff) seems to be holding a lot of power lately.

Its not my cam, but It barely lopes at idle. If I can find specs, Ill gladly post up. VVT has been removed.

You are still limited to the clamp load that a 4 bolt setup can handle, and the horrid LS3 casting weakness.

This setup has its advantage because it makes no torque down low. At 5000, its only making 600 rwtq. If this was a TT setup, it would be making 900 rwtq@4000. Thats serious torque to keep a head on with 4 bolts and no Oring.

Nice build! How has that DYAD clutch worked out for you? Looking for a twin that doesn't chatter and has good street manners but can make a few quarter mile passes a year.
