Default Anyone have a smog legal LS1 that's fast?

Anyone out there have a fast Camaro or Bird that's smog legal? I'm considering buying a stock SS and going the smog-friendly route. I want to build something that won't upset neighbors, and doesn't cost $200 to smog.

Thats what My plan is. Not really fast. only thing I wanna do now is a Mild Cam. Full Exhaust is already done so thats kinda all you can do.

Smog Friendly your looking at around 350-380Hp range is my guess.

Sounds good. What's your full exhaust setup like if it's smog legal?

whats your definition of fast? I think its pretty doable to have a solid 11 second car and still pass smog. You wanting nitrous, all motor, or boost?

Boost or nitrous are the easiest routes.

Yeah, fast for one guy might not be for another. Ive seen some na cammed cars but it takes more tuning and wont be as easy as fi or no2. All depends what youre looking for.

Best option would be procharger or sts with an LS6 cam. I believe Bad30th has a smog legal procharged 99 TA

The goals for my car are to make good power, have good street manners/drivability and still be smog legal (or as close to it as possible) to avoid smog hassles. It's taken a LONG time to get everything put together and get it dialed in, overcoming a lot of break/fix and upgrade problems along the way.

I'm headed to CMS tomorrow to get the final tuning done (ran out of fuel pump up top last time on the dyno so I just installed a Lonnie's double-pump setup).

Hoping for ~550rwhp with ~10psi boost and no nitrous on the CMS dyno through an unlocked Yank PY3400/4L80E/MWC 9". Maybe eventually 600+rwhp on boost+n20.

Not sure how fast it will be once dialed in, the car weighs ~3600# without driver.

My goal is also a smog legal 350-400 rwhp NA build. When I get the funds for FI, the goal will be 550-650 rwhp. However, if your car legally has a motor from a year 2000 or higher vehicle, the sniffer test will not be done after Jan 1st 2013, so that makes it a little easier to pass, assuming your intake/exhaust parts are OEM or have CARB E.O. #s.

Both are relative terms... If you're used to driving a stock LS1 F-body, fast is like 11s/10s and the stock LS1 would be quick. Am I right?
