600 hp on stock 5.3?
Will it be possible to get 600-700hp from a stock 5.3 lm7 with truck manifolds and a single turbo conversion?
What cam and intake would be best for the job?
I will drive it on e85 and rev about 7000rpm, please help me what more parts I need, This will be a budget build.
Later I will build a forged engine but I want to play earlier
Will it be better to get a 6.0 lq4 to build then the 5.3 lm7 I got now?

The quickest way to get there is to read... There r probly 50 threads ab this in this forum.
Ls6 cam
Stock truck intake
Stock heads
Fmic
76+ mm turbo
Truck manifolds
And plan for $1000 worth of software and tuning time by someone who know what they r doing.

So that should answer your question.
Now my only question is why 5.3? I mean can't this be down with a 5.7L? Maybe someone can chim in that knows why???

Sorry that question really wasn't directed toward you... It was more directed toward i here all these kind of crazy sick builds being done on 5.3L motors. I know the block is a bit different then the 5.7, but is it stronger??? I'd like to know??? I know of guys taking a completely stock 5.3L motor which is 9.5 to 1 comp. and throwing larger cc chamber heads 241 or 243 casting and lowering the compression down to 8.0 to 8.5 to 1 and throwing 26+ psi to it. And some with a bit of spray on top of that. They have ran them for over two race seasons and have not had any issues. And i know of others going 6.0L iron blocks and having issues with 18 to 20 psi with forged pistons and good rods. Why??? Tune??? But isn't Jim Morgan one of the top tuners? So is it really the bore and size. Maybe size doesn't matter??? But laws of pysics state... "No replacement for displacement." But look at these little ricers. or 2jz's Hell they just throw boost at them and they seem to last. But lil motors!!! I'm starting to scratch my head. Not to many people can or want to fork out the $$$ for the LSX,ERL,Warehawk or dart block! They want to go fast for less... And it's starting to look like junk yard 4.8L and 5.3's are the ticket!

I think the whole 5.3 thing is just because they are cheap, people would rather risk blowing up a $300 dollar 5.3 than a $1500 5.7. Also the iron block is supposed to be stronger. As far as "no replacement for displacement", in a sense adding a turbo has the same effect as adding displacement. Both are just a way to get more air into an engine.

yes it can be done. I'm making ~620 to the tire with a 5.3 and my 80mm Bullseye turbo on 10 pounds of boost and pump gas. They 5.3 is stronger being an iron block, I split 2 aluminum 5.7 sleeves on 20 pounds of boost and good fuel(twisting the block would crack the sleeves where the motor mounts where, after the second block broke the exact same way I caught onto the problem, that and I couldn't get the bolts out from my motor mounts, I put them in with a 3/8 ratchet and had to use a 1/2" impact gun to get the bolts back out they were so tweaked)
put some decent heads on it. a nice cam. some patriot valve springs, head and main studs and let it eat. I want to put 118 back in my tank and see what it'll take to destroy this 5.3 but I've been having too much fun on pump gas and 10 pounds to wanna find out
oh, and I believe a 5.3 is the same block as far as dimensions as a 5.7, you can bore it out to a 3.900 and make a 5.7 out of a 5.3

60lb + injectors?
2 in tank pumps is what alot of guys run. Even the factory fuel rails r good for that power if I remember correctly.
And read the STICKY ab the "real cost of forced induction" at the the top of the forum...

hey turboswede, what are the laws like there for running stuff like this on the street? Do you guys have emissions test and whatnot like some states here? How do they go about it? Why did you say you cant run the 5.7, whats the deal with the power thing you mentioned, never heard that before?
Also, if you read the stickies at the top of the page, they will answer a ton of your questions and anything else you can find in many threads already posted plus some. There are a ton of other threads just like yours with great info already. Good luck.

I can get my car legal here in Sweden with 20% more power if I change the brakes, Rear axle, Engine and gearbox. My car has 250hp std so it will be possible with a 285hp lm7. I have also maked an order for a t56 magnum for this build.
The turboconversion will not be possible to get legal. I will need to remove all the turbo stuff once in a year.
